SPARTANBURG, S.C. – It took more than six weeks to build an impressive
resume and less than three hours to shred the thing.
The Spartanburg Blue Eagles, who compiled 21 victories since the beginning of
June to claim the regular season championship in the West Division of the
Southern Collegiate Baseball League, were finished after the first playoff game.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Despite being swept in a doubleheader by Statesville Friday evening at Russell C. King Field, the Spartanburg Blue Eagles wrapped up the first SCBL West Division championship in team history.
By virtue of the Tennessee Tornado’s loss to the Carolina Chaos Friday afternoon
in Johnson City, the Blue Eagles won the West with a 13-5 record against
divisional opponents and will be the #1 seed in the playoffs when they begin on
Monday night.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg pounded out 11 hits and scored 5 runs to defeat the Carolina Chaos 5-1 Saturday night in game two of a doubleheader.
The Blue Eagles won game one behind a strong pitching performance from Wofford Terrier Ryan Traylor. The Chaos must have thought they were experiencing deja-vu in game two as they faced another Terrier pitcher who again shut the door on their offensive production.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Ryan Traylor allowed one run over six innings to win
his third consecutive start and to lead the Spartanburg Blue Eagles to a 3-1
victory over the Carolina Chaos in Central South Carolina Saturday afternoon in
game one of a doubleheader.
Traylor, (5-1) who was selected to the All-Star team Thursday night, gave up
four hits, walked one, and struck out five Chaos to earn fifth win of the summer
which is tops for a Blue Eagle pitcher.
