SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Spartanburg Blue Eagles will host Mascot Night this Friday night in conjunction with their doubleheader against the Morganton Aggies. Coca-Cola of Spartanburg is sponsoring the event, which will feature mascots from local restaurants and sports teams.

The Blue Eagles have invited children from local daycares to bring their parents to the game to enjoy the festivities. Any child presenting a voucher at the gate will be admitted for $3. All other tickets will be $5.

Spartanburg currently sits in a tie for first place in the SCBL West with Tennessee. Both teams have identical records of 11-5 in the division, 18-13 overall. But the Blue Eagles hold the advantage in the second tiebreaker, head-to-head record, over the Tornado.

Friday night’s game will feature the Blue Eagles facing the Aggies of Morganton for the third and fourth times this week. Morganton defeated Spartanburg on Monday at Russell C. King Field by a score of 6-1. The two teams will face off Wednesday evening in Morganton before returning to Spartanburg before Friday’s doubleheader.

New merchandise specials were announced at Spartanburg’s last home game on Monday. T-shirts and fitted caps are now just $10, including this year’s official on-the-field cap just like the Blue Eagles wear. All adjustable caps and T-shirts from previous seasons are $5.
